How to cover up a tattoo

A quick way to cover up a tattoo for a photoshoot, wedding, parents or an important function is to do it with makeup.

Any foundation or concealer will do. You don’t need Hollywood stage makeup or anything. You just need to make sure that it’s heavy coverage (thick)

I also find a quick way to cover up dark ink is by using a red base. The red helps cancel out the dark blue and makes for an even coverage.

Also finishing the ‘cover up’ with a setting spray or hairspray to keep it all in place.

Natural bigger lips in under a minute.

Want bigger plumper lips naturally? Get yourself a dermaroller.
💉 MAKE SURE you use 0.5mm for best results, anything larger can be damaging.

And ALWAYS ALWAYS sanitize your needles before and after use. Using needles without sanitizing can lead to infections. (Ewe!)

First apply a serum. I like to use straight up Hyaluronic Acid. It’s a gel like water holding molecule that is the space filler & cushioning agent found in all mammals joints and skin. It improves hydration in the skin and stimulates the production of collagen.

👄 Stretch your lips so that the needles get right in there. Roll vertically, horizontally and diagonally until you’ve rolled all over.

Results won’t happen overnight.. Be patient and do them twice a month or before a big night out.

Microneedling creates tiny “injuries” in your skin thus creating your natural defences to waken up and create more collagen. Creating pillowy plump lips 💋

Why Manuka Honey

We all know by now that honey does wonders for our skin, but the kind of honey you’re using matters.
The difference between raw and regular honey is that raw honey hasn’t been processed. When honey is “processed,” it’s heated, or pasteurized, in order to achieve the golden, syrupy look we’re accustomed to. But, like other pasteurized foods, honey loses a lot of its beneficial nutrients when exposed to heat high enough to kill potentially harmful bacteria. Alternatively, raw honey is packed with vitamins B, C and live enzymes.

Manuka honey is the best honey out there. It’s produced by bees that feed on the manuka shrub of New Zealand’s remote North Island. Though all raw, unheated honeys have health benefits, manuka has been found to have higher therapeutic properties than other varieties.

It’s often graded as “12+ or “16+,” which indicates its concentration of beneficial compounds and antioxidants, so the higher the number, the stronger the antibiotic effect.

Manuka honey contains two ingredients, MG and hydrogen peroxide, which make it a powerful antibiotic and antibacterial agent. MG (methylglyoxal) is found in most honey, but the highest concentration is found in the nectar of the Manuka flowers. Another study also shows that this type of honey has significant antibacterial properties.

What it does.
Heals acne: Due to its anti-inflammatory properties, manuka honey reduces redness and heals congested or inflamed skin and eczema

Repairs skin: Manuka promotes skin regeneration, repairs cellular damage and lessens scarring.

Hydrates: When applied to your skin, manuka will hold in moisture and absorb moisture from the air for a dewy, glowing complexion.

Anti-aging: Because of its moisturizing properties, manuka retains moisture without making skin oily, the first step in wrinkle-free skin. It also inhibits MMP, a group of enzymes that destroy collagen.

Baking 101

Baking is a term, which has been used in the drag community for years, it refers to letting translucent powder sit on your face for five to 10 minutes, which allows the heat from your face to set your base foundation and concealer, and then dusting it off your face, leaving you with a creaseless, flawless finish
1. Hydrate your eye area. Apply an eye cream around your eye area to hydrate your skin and plump it up, minimizing the appearance of any fine lines or creases.
2. Apply a thick concealer under your eyes. While concealer usually contains oils and has a tendency to crease, it won’t if it’s set right. Apply it upward from the apples of your cheeks toward your temples all the way underneath your eye. Use a damp makeup sponge for best results.
3. Coat on more concealer. At this point, you might be thinking, This is a shit-ton of makeup, and yes, it is. So, you can skip this step and still get great results, but for lasting power, a sheer second coat can lock in the first formula. After you apply the second layer of concealer, blend it in again with your damp makeup sponge.
4. Dust on translucent powder. Use a fluffy eye shadow brush to apply translucent powder over the entire patch of concealer to set the base makeup.
5. Now, “bake” or “cook” your makeup.Use a sponge and dampen it with a setting spray. Then, dip the sponge into the translucent powder you used in step 4 to pack the loose powder generously over the area where you applied the concealer. Leave the powder on for five to 10 minutes.
Boom, you’re baked.

Roll into the new year

Dermarolling or microneedling is like a little lawn aerator for your skin. These needles create “micro” injuries on your skin which instigates collagen production to ramp up. Studies show a dramatic formation of fresh new collagen after a just a few weeks of dermarolling. Those findings also suggest favourable results for dissolving acne scars. They are really affordable too!

High quality rollers can go from 20$-50$

Proper cleansing is strongly advisable! Disinfect with isopropyl alcohol before and after each use.

Roll 5-10 times in each area horizontally, then vertically, then diagonally. A few times a week or less is good.

Afterwards be really careful to only apply something you want to penetrate your skin. Opt for natural oils and avoid big brand creams that contain loads of toxic chemicals and fragrance.

Hyaluronic acid would be my number one choice to apply on the treated area.

My red light district

Getting a jump start on the weekend by giving myself an LED light therapy treatment. And this is what I will be looking like from now on because I’m loving this treatment!
Red light LED stimulates fibroblasts that produce collagen, which as we know gives skin it’s plumpness. It also minimizes fine lines, wrinkles, treats sun-damage and stretch marks.
LED treatments can also help boost your mood in the dark winter months.

It’s defiantly a gentler more natural and less expensive way to go to turn back the clock 🤘🏻💋

Happy Halloween

Wanna know what’s scary? A California woman was awarded $70M in her lawsuit alleging that years of using Johnson & Johnson’s baby powder caused her ovarian cancerAbout 2,000 women have filed similar suits, and lawyers are reviewing thousands of other potential cases.

Finally people are waking up to the harmful chemicals that the beauty and cosmetic industry dump into their products.

Drink away wrinkles!

For healthy skin, collagen is key: This naturally occurring protein keeps skin smooth and youthful, but our bodies produce less collagen as we get older. The result? Thinner skin, dryness, and more wrinkles.

Previously, experts thought that collagen drinks had a low chance of having any effect because the body would probably just break them down in the stomach and use them for energy without really absorbing them.

Newer studies may suggest otherwise. That infact those who were consuming collagen drinks had shown significant improvements in the elasticity as well as thickness of their skin.

The craze is big in Europe and Asia and Many companies, such as Applied Nutrition, Lemnox, Skinade, Mejii and YouTonics, jumped on the collagen drink bandwagon, selling their products, on average, for roughly $70 for a month’s supply.
I recently tried Fountain, made by a Canadian company called Deciem. I’m in love with the all the drinks and most importantly I’m in love with the science behind the company. They range from 30-60$ per bottle.
There are 11 different formulations to choose from the brand..
